We hired the Symphony Agency in early 2018 to help us with our branding. We are a several year old tech company in Tampa and wanted to ensure that what we put out there in terms of our image and messaging was aligned with who we are, who we serve and how we provide value.

We started with their Brand and Vision workshop which was on point, fun and impeccably organized. When done we also hired Symphony to design a new logo.

We then used the outcome of this work as the guiding star in a complete website redesign that we completed internally.

The results of getting clear on our brand and updating our look were immediate and impressive. We haven't changed 'who we are' and 'what we do', but by aligning our messaging with these, and to our ideal clients, we are attracting even more business and our sales cycle has shortened.

We engaged Symphony in 2017 to redesign our website and transfer it from our previous content management system to WordPress. There were numerous problems throughout the engagement, and we eventually pulled our business from Symphony after sustaining an ongoing major loss of revenue.

Upon converting to the new website designed and coded by Symphony, we immediately started losing traffic. The losses continued for 6 months, bottoming out at 75% below pre-launch traffic levels. Since our entire business was based on organic search traffic, we lost approximately 75% of monthly revenue and our business was severely damaged.

We can't say with 100% certainty that all of the traffic loss was caused by Symphony's errors alone. However, we had several outside SEO audits which confirmed numerous website coding and structural errors made by Symphony. Additionally, we had years of steady traffic growth prior to the engagement with Symphony, sailing through numerous Google algorithm updates without traffic loss. Immediately after Symphony's site launch we started losing traffic, and were hit with every subsequent algorithm update.

It became clear over time that Symphony did not know what was wrong or how to fix it. To their credit, they admitted many of their mistakes and fixed them when shown, but by that point it was too late. Obviously we had to pull our business. After taking back control of the site and doing extensive remedial work over the following year, traffic and revenue returned nearly to previous levels.

Symphony did not have the SEO expertise they purported to have, and had no quality assurance process to check their work. If they had simply admitted to being unsure of their knowledge, or recommended an outside SEO audit prior to launch, it's likely many errors could have been avoided. They’re great at marketing themselves, but in this instance did not have the skills to back it up.

We did not engage Symphony for any pay-per-click or marketing services, so we cannot comment on their expertise in those areas. We would not recommend Symphony for any SEO services or content site architecture work. If you have or need a website that receives high levels of organic search traffic, we strongly suggest finding a different agency with more SEO expertise.

As a former financial services senior exec responsible for global process reengineering, I participated in many similar sessions over the years and was often underwhelmed at the end. So I was admittedly skeptical regarding the value add.

I found the Symphony Success Orchestrator sessions well structured, thought provoking and challenging in many respects. Most importantly, I appreciated what can best be described as a series of exercises designed to foster the 'build blocks' of thoughts that led my team to logic conclusions.

My team entered the sessions without a clear path to market and a critical rebranding initiative. We walked away with clear line of sight.

Soaring Eagle Consulting is in the middle of revamping its entire image and messaging to prospects, clients, current employees and future. This process can be almost unbearable for a growing company to get through. There are so many things to add on to this task list that getting through sometimes feels insurmountable. Plus the nuances of the written language so that your internal corporate environment is reflected in your outer world messages needs to be onpoint while being relevant to your target market.

Going through this process with the Symphony Agency has not only been rewarding but the path forward has been entlightening, nonstressful almost to the point of really having fun with the process and painful reflection that you end up undergoing. We are very thankful that we have been able to work and partner with the Symphony Team.
